Dreams and Schemes for the industry - 2022
In January, we talked about our plans, schemes, and dreams for 2022. Some of our goals were on the individual level and some were for industry level change. Our challenge as a group is to help each other plan to meet our goals and elevate our industry.
Speak at ISA
Challenge the industry to improve, especially in Maine:
require CEUs for the Arborist license
work with ISA to reduce the minimum for paper tests
Implement state licensing requirements across the country
Become certified and attend the WTCW
Compete in the Geezers comp
Increase speaking experience - do more hand's on diagnosing workshops and convince people to use diagnostics labs rather than trying to diagnose on symptoms only
More homeowner training, especially structural pruning
Speak at more conferences and short courses
Facilitate the Geezers comp, speak at IAA and start the discussion about changing minds, what does the change we want look like and how do we move forward
Continue to get out of my comfort zone
Become a Certified Arborist
Travel and gain confidence to stand up, get certified
Start a degree in the field (looking for ideas)
Staying aware of opportunities for speaking
Have more agency in life
